Spanish in the USA,
I've heard such an idea that one needs to know at least some Spanish to travel in certain states of the USA. The reason for this is rather obvious - too many Spanish speaking people who don't know English. Is it really like this? And there are those who think that the Spanish language can claim to be the second official language in the nearest future.

RE: Spanish in the USA,
In California I tried to go to a 7/11 and a Spanish speaker told me it was "cerrado"
not everyone would understand what the situation is I've also been to a South American restaurant and I had to order in Spanish because no one there spoke English the papusas were delicious |

RE: Spanish in the USA,
I'll try to guess, the Spanish speaker meant that the supermarket "Seven/eleven" was closed?
Papusas is the dish? I was recommended black beans with rice. It should be eaten with some proper sauce, as the woman from Cuba told me. |

RE: Spanish in the USA,
A woman tried speaking Spanish to me at a fast-food restaurant today. The entire personnel speaks Spanish there. The lady was standing in the line behind me and almost got surprised that I didn't understand. I'm talking about NYC.

RE: Spanish in the USA,
Well, when I let her know that I don't speak Spanish she didn't continue the conversation. And she spoke Spanish to the servers.
