RE: Situation in Iran
I believe it will. Maybe not this time, but it certainly will, especially after these events we witness today.

I wonder what you call democracy. If you call that form of government democracy then God save the world from this epidemic.
Just allow me to ask a question? When the US were placing war-heads in the Western Europe against the USSR who were they fighting with? The non-democratic commies? Now the communism is gone. Supposedly there is democracy in Russia now.
Who are the Americans fighting now there? Who are they placing the rockets against in Poland and Czechia? The answer is obvious, the Russians.
The same is with Iran. This is not the Iranian regime they are nagging at. These are the Arian Iranians who are like a but in the Israelis' throat. The same has been with Iraq.
Today Yankees are in Afghanistan. Are the Afghans treating them any better than they used to treat the Soviets before? Don't be deceived, democracy is not quite a universal thing that fits every nation. And I am afraid it will take the Americans a pretty long time to realize that.

RE: Situation in Iran
I think, not any kind of European or American democracy can win in Iran, Iraq or elsewhere outside the European civilization. In truth, almost all the third-world 'democratic' countries are poor dictatures and olygarchies.

Ic ne understande hwaet thu saegst. Do you mean that some democracy is not democracy or a democracy can be democratic? I think than what you say is actually known and nobody doubts. Not any undemocracy from the point of view of the powermen has to be disabled. But do you think that the ideas of the democracy, which are so dear to the nowadays European minds, can work well?

European dream is to be like Russia? Or Russian dream is to be like Europe?

To annex EC and to sell own Asian territory to China?

It is more poor than Europe. Its democracy is more "controllable" than democracy has to be. It has olygarchs.

Indeed. Big Grin The fact that the past president elections in Ucraine did offer an alternative somewhat amused me. Russian people never seems to hesitate over its future leader: at least the results of any coming elections are hardly questionned by anyone.
